Pyloroplasty

A plyloroplasty is performed when the pylorus muscle of the stomach becomes too thick. The pylorus is at the bottom of stomach. The narrowing (stenosis) of the opening of this part of the stomach causes problems in allowing the contents of the stomach to empty into the small intestine (duodenum).

This surgery is commonly performed for infants.
