Today, I would like report on today’s “Meet the Dean Session”, presented by Oceania University of Medicine, (April 3rd, 2012, 9pm ET, 10 am Tokyo time).
The session was given through “Blackboard Collaborate“.
In short, I would like to say that I was extremely impressed by the open format of the session which included approximately 20 prospective students who listened to short presentations by administrators and also by the Dean, Peter Horneffer, MD, FACS.
Some of the attendees were working professionals in medicine (Respiratory Therapists, Nurse Practitioners, and Physician Assistants).
We were able to submit questions via email prior to the session, and also through text/voice during the session. Every one of our questions was answered in detail, by Dr. Horneffer.
For those of you who have not yet heard of Oceania University of Medicine, please check out their website, and don’t be afraid to ask their admissions counselors tough questions, as they will answer them fully.
Just in case you were wondering…for the part-time (pre-clinical) program at Oceania University of Medicine, you can expect to spend 40-50 hrs/wk studying, full-time, 80 to 100 hrs/wk… The curriculum is comparable to those you will find in traditional brick and mortar schools.
Don’t take my word for it, check out the details on their website, or join their next session.
I am already convinced that their program is right for me. I am gong to apply.
(Update: Accepted in December, 2012. I will be starting from July, 2013!)
